Mike Poulson and Brian McClure figure if they like the brews that they make, you will too. Judging from the reaction of patrons when I dropped by on a Friday night, that formula may be working out very well for them. They have nine beers on tap, and if you ask them which one is their favorite, they will grin […]

Oh man, that was about as close as it could get! Near misses are rarely more heartbreaking. Seeking that elusive first win in their final game of the 2016-17 season, the San Pasqual Eagles had a great shot, literally, of accomplishing that very goal. Left wide open in the right corner with less than 35 seconds remaining and his team […]

As a member of the Assembly Health Hooking Kids on Fishing

~ Guest Opinion

My new Assembly Bill 478, will raise the age requirement for the purchase of fishing licenses by two years. By raising the age from 16 to 18 years, we will expose larger numbers of California’s youth to nature, expand their life experiences and perhaps, their futures. This is especially important for youth living in inner cities or underserved communities. For […]

“Fifty Shades Darker”

The “Fifty Shades” franchise is commercially successful but critically despised. I’ve heard all manner of nasty things said about the books, and 2015’s “Fifty Shades of Grey” tied for Worst Picture at the Razzies. “Fifty Shades Darker” is no redeemer, I assure you. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say the series likes the abuse it takes from people […]
