The Center Children’s and Youth Chorus, an Endorsed Program of the California Center for the Arts, Escondido invites young people, ages 7-18 to sign up for a singing opportunity that begins Monday, September 12.
The Chorus meets at the Center for the Arts, Education Studios I and III between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. every Monday.
The chorus consists of three age level choirs directed by experienced staff and coordinated by Dana Stanford. In the Center Children’s Chorus students will learn basic music skills that will prepare them for a lifetime of singing with a beautiful voice.
The program not only offers performing experiences, but also provides a place to learn about music in a friendly environment by developing a child’s natural abilities to sing alone and with a group. Singers will be challenged to excellence in singing skills and performing.
Katy Lundeen conducts the Coro Vivo Youth Choir, which is a part of the comprehensive program also including the Brio and Arioso children’s choirs conducted by Diane Geller and Dana Stanford. Students are introduced to the Kodaly method of music education using sequential units of study that, in addition to music skills, develops self-discipline, teamwork, and a love for music.
