Women can get the very best care right here at home

Lori Chavez delivered her son Jayden at Palomar Medical Center Escondido under the professional care of Dr. Brano Cizmar of North County Women’s Specialists

How far would you go to get the best care for you and your unborn child? For Julie and Jayro Duarte, the answer is a really long way, more than a two-hour drive each direction. The Duartes have been making the trip from their home in the Imperial Valley for the past 11 years to have Julie receive her obstetrics and gynecology care from North County Women’s Specialists and deliver three of their babies at Palomar Medical Center Escondido.

“It’s worth every penny of every trip,” Julie said, referencing the time and travel costs.

The Duartes chose North County Women’s Specialists through their relationship with Dr. Brano Cizmar, who delivered their first two children in Brawley, California. When he moved to Escondido, they stuck with him.

“He is just an amazing doctor,” Julie said. “I can go on and on about him as a person and as a doctor.”

Choosing the right doctor is a difficult but important decision made easier when you have a team of highly reputable doctors from which to choose. Including Dr. Cizmar, North County Women’s Specialists offers six of the most qualified and professional OB-GYNs in North San Diego County who each connect to their patients in a special way: Josue Leon, M.D.; Paul Hinshaw, D.O.; Shannon Hart, D.O.; Camela McGrath, M.D.; and Victoria Young, M.D. work together to provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages inside and outside the hospital. Four Nurse Practitioners and one Diagnostic Medical Sonographer complete the team that collectively delivers between 150 and 200 babies each month following birth plans developed between mother and doctor.

Two North County Women’s Specialists OB-GYNs (Elizabeth Cerrone-Campbell, D.O. and Dana Huskey, M.D.) are dedicated to inpatient care at Palomar Medical Center Escondido to serve all patients delivering children but with special attention to high-risk patients, such as those delivering vaginally after cesarean sections; to treat and manage all medical, surgical and obstetrical complications of pregnancies; and treat women entering the Emergency Department or operating rooms with issues related to their reproductive organs.

Once you select the right doctor, you might build such a strong rapport that you would be willing to drive across the desert to get your care. But with offices located in the heart of Escondido and offsite clinics as far away as Borrego Springs you won’t have to.

The physicians at North County Women’s Specialists strive to build lifelong relationships with each patient by supporting their wellness goals in the areas of obstetrics and gynecology including infertility, cosmetics, and robotic surgery.
