The Valley Center Rotary Club will host its 10th annual wine tasting, “The Taste of Romance” on Saturday, February 6, 3 p.m.–5:30 p.m. at the Bordeaux Room at Harrah’s Resort Southern California. The event will include hors d’oeuvres, gourmet wines and a live and silent auction.

At this point the club can use donations for the live auction and/or sponsorships. Such donations are tax deductible.

This is the club’s main fundraiser of the year and is used to help fund the many charities and scholarships that the club contributes to annually.

Some of the local projects they have sponsored recently include donations to the local food bank, monetary and book donations to the Valley Center Library, community clean up and e- waste collection, library path clean up and the installation of a new bench, helping to fund the Memorial Wall and Peace Garden at Camp Pendleton, painting of the Valley Center Community Hall, and annual scholarships for deserving high school seniors.

The Rotary Club of Valley Center, and Rotary International raise money for a variety of projects that include: community improvement, violence prevention, drug abuse intervention, youth projects, AIDS education, hunger prevention, environmental education, and educational literacy. Rotarians sponsor international programs where $90 million is invested annually, including Polio Plus, Rotary’s commitment to the global eradication of polio.

Your donation can be at several levels. If you can’t give a monetary gift, consider the donation of an auction item to the wine tasting. Your donation is tax deductible and you will receive a thank you letter for your generosity.
