Westfield mall will welcome holiday shoppers safely

The tradition of celebrating the holidays at Westfield North County and the other Westfield malls continues with one-of-a-kind experiences that keep safety, services, community and fun top of mind.

Visits with Santa, virtual scavenger hunts and more are planned this holiday season at all Westfield San Diego centers: UTC, Mission Valley, North County and Plaza Bonita.

The shopping centers will welcome guests eager to safely experience their favorite traditions with family and friends by offering festive experiences, exclusive shopping events, and a variety of services designed to complement consumers’ online shopping.

“Now more than ever, we are all in need of holiday cheer,” said Nino Rodriguez, VP of shopping center management. “As we head into the season our top priority is to ensure a healthy, clean and safe environment for all to enjoy holiday shopping and winter festivities in a new way.”

Westfield is committed to the health and safety of its customers, employees and the community, and is working with public health officials and retailers to ensure that relevant guidelines are being followed this holiday season.

In addition to increased cleanings of common areas and monitoring and enforcing capacity; social distancing; and the wearing of face coverings, Bureau Veritas, the world’s most respected provider in testing, inspection and certification processes, certified Westfield cleaning processes with its industry-leading hygiene and safety excellence label, SafeGuard. More information on shopping center health and safety practices can be found on the “What We are Doing” tab of each Westfield San Diego center website.

Westfield North County will offer an assortment of services including Curbside Pickup and Ask An Elf (also known as Answers on the Spot) during extended holiday operating hours. Westfield gift cards, for use at any Westfield shopping center, can be purchased from the Westfield UTC Concierge team.

Westfield North County will also be hosting Police Department Toy Drives in partnership with community stations. Toys will be collected at designated drop off stations and donated to families in need of support this holiday season. These initiatives continue Westfield’s commitment to the local community through a program that was launched in March under the hashtag #WestfieldCares. Visit for more information.
