The Welk Theatre will open “Sweet Charity” on September 2.
Directed and choreographed by San Diego veteran Ray Limon the show is headed by Natalie Nucci as Charity with a cast from San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles.
Limon has a definite flair for Bob Fosse choreography and his attention to detail promise a spectacular version of this rarely done musical with songs suck as “I’m A Brass Band,” “Hey Big Spender,” “If They Could See Me Now,” “Rhythm of Life” and “There’s Gotta Be Something Better Than This!”
The show runs September 2 through November 20. Shows are Thursdays /Saturdays and Sunday matinees at 1 p.m. and Thursday/Saturday evenings. Prices are $49 for all tickets and add a pre-show buffet on any day for just $19 more.
Also re-opening in September for four weeks only it’s “Next to Real Neil — the Neil Diamond Experience. This show sold out last spring and Welk is expecting it to be sold out again for each Wednesday of September.
