The Welk Resorts will host their First Annual Oktoberfest celebration featuring delicious German-themed food, rides, games, live music, and of course —beer! Oceanside-based Legacy Brewing Co. will keep the beer flowing at the Bier Garden with over a dozen craft beers. The festivities take place on Saturday, October 13 and Sunday, October 14, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Welk Resort Golf Course.
Join German Emcee Richard Bernard as he keeps the Oktoberfest spirit high between live performances, including an enthralling performance by The Killer Dueling Pianos. Guests can test their skills at classic German-themed contests like Barrel Racing and Beer Stein Holding. Thrill seekers will especially enjoy the new PartyWorks’ 30-foot free-fall, where they can jump off a platform and land into a giant inflatable landing pad. Attendees are invited to take part in one of the many attractions and activities of the day, which include:
German Costume Contest
Chicken Dance Contest
Giant Solo® Cup Pong
Giant Inflatable Soccer Darts
Big Shot Camera with Green Screen
Giant Inflatable Slide
Gold Fish Races
Pretzel Necklace Making
A single elimination Battle Royale Tournament will also take place Saturday and Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The single elimination tournament will begin with 18 competitors per round, with the top two players advancing to the championship round at 4:30pm for a chance to win $250, a swag bag and bragging rights. The entry fee is $15 and competitors must be 16 years of age or under.
The weekend will host a variety of food trucks, German-themed food stands, and full bars. Guests can also enjoy appetizing snacks, such as kettle corn and Bavarian pretzels, traditionally paired with a stein of beer.
