Saturday’s Walk for Animals fund raiser at Kit Carson Park brought out more than 1,500 registered walkers and raised more than $100,000, according to Nina Thompson, news center manager for the San Diego Humane Society.
The money raised helps care for nearly 50,000 animals in need this year. The morning festivities included a pancake breakfast, a scenic two-mile walk, fun-filled doggie activities and an array of vendor booths.
