Waldron honors Escondido leaders during Hispanic Heritage Month

This week Assembly Republican Leader Marie Waldron (Escondido) joined civic leaders and dignitaries from across San Diego County to recognize Hispanic Heritage Month. 

Honorees included:

• Councilmember Joe Garcia, Church pastor and Escondido Police Chaplain, recipient of the 2014 “Volunteer of  the Year Award” from the Escondido Police Department, and Council Member serving District 3

• Raymond Alto, a dedicated advocate for smart growth and a beautiful Escondido, former chairman of the Mercado Business Association, owner of La Tapatia Mexican Restaurant, and former owner of Fireside Inn

• Jose Monforte, business leader and owner/operator of Cocina Del Charro Restaurants in Escondido and San Marcos, recipient of the Escondido Community Outstanding Service Award for providing hot meals to the homeless and his ongoing civic involvement  

“I congratulate these outstanding leaders for their dedication and service to the people of our community,”  said Waldron.
