On September 14, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 1513 Riders visited Marine Vietnam veteran Chris Marszalek (known far and wide as “Chris the Woodcutter”) at his home on Palomar Mountain. There, they cleaned up much of his yard and cleared his driveway to allow stair-free access to his home. VFW Post 1513 Surgeon Gina Burke cleaned Marszalek’s kitchen and provided lunch for the crew.
VFW Post 1513 includes members from Escondido and Valley Center.
Those who participated included Dave Plotkin, Jim Botts, Gary Nordby, Jerry Shirley, Dan Geisler, Jacob Loutsenhizer, Gina Burke, Neil Collins, Bill Stintsman, and President Mike Frank.
