At the San Elijo Jazz Festival, held March 18 at San Elijo Middle School. Valley Center prevailed over schools from Poway, San Marcos and beyond Middle School Division: Valley Center Middle School: 1st Place Best Overall, Best Trumpet Section, Best Intonation, and numerous individual solo awards. High School Division: Valley Center High School: 1st Place Best Overall, Best Trumpet Section, Best Trombone Section, and numerous individual solo awards.
