Tyler Batson promoted to Battalion Chief

On Sunday, December 13, Tyler Batson was promoted to Battalion Chief in charge of the Department’s B-Shift for the Escondido Fire Department. Chief Batson has worked for the department for 17 years in the positions of Firefighter Paramedic, Engineer and Fire Captain. Chief Batson is a US Navy veteran (8 years) and former member of SEAL Team #3. Chief Batson is a lead instructor in the Blue Card Incident Management certification program and an instructor in the Regional Public Safety Leadership Development Program. He has also served as an assistant team leader in the Escondido Tactical Paramedic (SWAT) program and as an adjunct instructor at the Palomar College Fire Academy.
