Trinity Neighborhood Garden to host fall planting seminar

Trinity Neighborhood Garden invites Escondido’s gardening community to an educational seminar by Farmer Roy Wilburn. He will be sharing information about Fall planting in Southern California.
The event will be held Saturday August 25 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 845 Chestnut St., Escondido in the rear of the property. For more information call Sandra Scott at 858-602-7639.
Roy Wilburn is a Master Gardener and Director of Horticulture at Sunshine Care in Poway. His unique gardening style has created five organic gardens at this facility providing high quality organic fruits and vegetables for residents and those in need in Poway.
His programs include a children’s garden, Memorial Rose Garden; and twice a month he is with local home-schooled children and residents, directing the Sunshine Care Garden Club’s “Seed to Table” program.
Wilburn has been very helpful to Trinity Neighborhood Garden from the very start.
Refreshments will be served and there will be an opportunity drawing for a handmade quilt at 11:30.
Trinity’s Neighborhood Garden is the newest community garden in Escondido and it has In- ground plots and garden boxes available for fall planting. They will soon have a gardening table ready for those in wheelchairs.
Nestled at the rear of Trinity Episcopal Church property our garden provides all day sun exposure, a shed for supplies, 4 X 12 in-ground plots and above-ground boxes. A shaded area for rest, plenty of parking and garden hours are dawn to dusk except Sunday. For more information about renting a plot call Sandra Scott, garden manager at 1-858-602-7639.
