Home Firearm Safety/ Basic Handgun Class

A monthly three-hour familiarization and safety class is offered for anyone anticipating the purchase of, or who already own, a handgun.

The class is offered Sunday, April 15, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Escondido Fish and Game Association shooting range east of Lake Wohlford. Participants learn the basics of handguns, home firearm safety and responsibility of firearm ownership. Handguns and ammunition are provided for the class but participants are encouraged to bring their own handgun if they already own one.

The Escondido Fish and Game Association range is located at 16525 Guejito Road and Lake Wohlford Road. Cost for the class is $60. To register call Jack at 760-746-2868.

Day of Prayer

Coffee Exchange

Join the Chamber of Commerce for a cup of coffee and conversation with the new director of the Escondido Public Library, Patricia Crosby. This event happens Tuesday, March 27, 7:30 a.m.–9 a.m. at the Escondido Chamber of Commerce’s Conference Room.

Get Jazzed for a Great Cause!

West Coast Jam featuring Richard Elliot, Rick Braun, Norman Brown, and the West Coast Horns will be performing a benefit concert for JDRF on Friday, March 23 at 7:00 the California Center for the Arts in Escondido.   JDRF’s mission is to create a world without type 1 diabetes, and all proceeds from this concert will fund research to support that mission.

Campus Creatives: From the Classroom to the Museum 

This exhibition features 47 local visual art department faculty members teaching at the college level in fourteen San Diego County institutions. These artists will be presenting newer works in a wide variety of media and subject, in the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, Center Museum, from April 7 until May 13. This juried exhibition will underscore the talents of these respected artists and highlight our County’s strength in art education, giving the public a chance to see how they practice what they teach and influence the art world beyond their classrooms.

Admission to the Museum is $8 for Adults, Seniors and Students $5, Center members, Military and children under 12 are free.


High Society Jazz Band to perform at Center

The High Society Jazz Band will be performing at March 25, 2 p.m. March 25 at the California Center for the Arts , Escondido. The concert is being sponsored by Hidden Valley Community Concert Association.

They will play a variety of music including New Orleans and Chicago Dixieland, swing, big band, Latin, and even some oldies rock ‘n roll.

Spring into Summer

April 21, 9–11 a.m. Kit Carson Park/ El Arroyo Picnic Area Join Escondido Recreation as they Spring into Summer with activities, trail exploration, and fun for all ages.

Explore the Trails—Use the NEW Kit Carson Park Trail Map complete with trail names. Register for summer camps and programs. Enjoy Recreation class demonstrations. Visit information booths.
