Firebird Balalaika Ensemble comes to CCAE October 8
Proclaimed “musically superb” by the Los Angeles Times, Firebird Balalaika Ensemble is in concert 2 p.m., Sunday , October 8, at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. Home firearm safety/ basic handgun class
A monthly 3-hour familiarization and safety class is offered for anyone anticipating the purchase of, or who already own, a handgun.
The class is offered Sunday, October 8, from 2– 5 p.m. at the Escondido Fish and Game Association shooting range east of Lake Wohlford. Participants learn the basics of handguns, home firearm safety and responsibility of firearm ownership. Handguns and ammunition are provided for the class but participants are encouraged to bring their own handgun if they already own one.

Quilts on display
Fallbrook Quilt Guild is proud of all North County quilters. On Friday, November 3, and Saturday, November 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be over 200 incredible quilts on display made by local quilters. There will be a boutique of handmade quilting and wearable items, a Country Store, Vendors (for fabric, patterns, quilt hangers, etc.) and both days will feature a Quilt Auction at 1 p.m. These auction items are donated new and beautiful quilts, baskets of fabric, and a Singer Sewing machine. Demonstrations on quilting techniques will be viewed by attendees.

Lost Boy’s Journey
The remarkable story of one Lost Boy, Peter Adup. Peter Adup endured trials that most of us can’t even imagine. His courageous journey is one of thousands of the Lost Boys of Sudan. The community is invited to hear Peter’s life testimony about his trials and struggles to survive difficult circumstances by the grace of God. Free Medicare lecture in Escondido
Scripps Health will hold a free public lecture on Medicare on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido. Medicare experts will discuss Medicare options during open enrollment period
People who are turning 65 soon or who are about to retire are encouraged to attend to learn the basics of Medicare and understand their choices. Medicare experts will be on site to answer questions. Topics to be covered include:
