Escondido Police Chief Craig Carter will be the guest speaker for The Escondido Republican Club’s (TERC) lunchtime meeting on Monday, September 18.

The meeting will be held at the Cocina del Charro Restaurant, 890 W. Valley Parkway, Escondido.  Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch buffet service beginning at 11:45 AM.  The meeting will begin promptly at noon and conclude at 1 p.m.

The cost is $15. per person.

Economic Development Committee will meet Thursday, September 14, noon.

Plates for Eight Lunch will be held Wednesday, September 20, 11:30 a.m. at Mi Guadalajara, 316 W Mission Ave #102, Escondido. The event is hosted by Yessenia Mendoza-E&J Metal Supply. This is a member only event, and an RSVP is required.

Good Morning Escondido, Breakfast Networking will be held Friday, September 22, 7:15 a.m.¬¬–9 a.m. at J & M’s Restaurant, 1215 E. Valley Parkway, Escondido.

In addition to the Escondido Public Library’s fantastic and free programs and services, the Library is partnering with local businesses to offer exclusive discounts to Library card holders through the Read Local, Shop Local! campaign. Escondido Public Library Hosts Create It @ Your Library for Teens

Escondido Public Library announces the next series of the craft-based monthly program, Create It @ Your Library, for teens and tweens ages 12 to 18 years old.  Create It @ Your Library will take place in September, October, and November, on the third Wednesday of each month from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The first meeting will be on September 20, in the Library’s Turrentine Room.

A variety of craft projects and techniques will be introduced at the following hands-on sessions:

• Broken Record Art on September 20, 2017 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Use fragments of old records to create a colorful and vibrant piece of art.

• Screen Printing on October 18, 2017 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Create a basic design and use screen printing tools to print onto a t-shirt. (Participants must bring their own t-shirt.)

• String Nail Art on November 15, 2017 from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wrap string around a series of nails to create a distinctive pattern.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Escondido Public Library. All craft supplies will be provided, except for t-shirts. Registration is not required; however, early arrival is recommended as supplies may be limited. Library programs, events, and services are free and open to the public.
