
Christmas Cantata Dec. 11 at Grace Lutheran Church
The Escondido Choral Arts ensembles, The Center Chorale and The Center Children’s Chorus will present “Tidings of Joy,” a concert celebrating the joy of the season. The fifty voices of the Center Children’s Chorus, ages 7-18, will sing music capturing the spirit of the holidays and combine with the adult ensemble for a glorious grand finale. The concert at Grace Lutheran Church in Escondido is Sunday, December 11 at 3 p.m.
The Center Chorale, conducted by Dr. Joe Stanford, will sing two well-known choral works of the season, Daniel Pinkham Christmas Cantata, and John Rutter Gloria, both accompanied by brass ensemble, and the magnificent Rodgers organ of the host church, Grace Lutheran.

Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee to meet
The Escondido Chamber of Commerce’s Government Affairs Committee will have its End of Year TOAST on Tuesday, December 6, 4– 6 p.m. at the Escondido Chamber of Commerce

The election results are final! Escondido will have a new District 3 County Supervisor, Kristin Gaspar. The City Council incumbents, Olga Diaz and Mike Morasco will retain their seats. Assemblywoman Marie Waldron will also continue to serve the 75th Assembly District.
All these will be the topics of conversation at this meeting which is open to Chamber members.
GAC is chaired by Kevin S. Svetich, CLU

Carols by Candlelight
For 27 years, our community has come together for a spectacular Christmas Concert created in 1990 by Steve Vaus and Wayne Nelson, “Carols by Candlelight.”
Name entertainers, local businesses and the San Diego community, join forces to make a difference in the lives of young children being cared for at Rady Children’s Hospital.
Five time Grammy winner BJ Thomas will headline the 27th Anniversary concert on Friday, December 9 and Saturday, December 10, at The California Center for the Arts, Escondido.
Thomas is known for such hits as “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head,” “Hooked on a Feeling,” “Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song,” and many, many more classics.
Joined by Four-time Grammy nominee, Brandy Clark; Grammy nominee, Collin Raye; Glee star, Noah Guthrie; six-time San Diego Music Awards winner, Eve Selis; Country vocalist and writer Anna Vaus, who was recently chosen by Miranda Lambert to receive the first Women Creators Scholarship at Nashville’s Belmont University, and our very own 2010 Grammy Winner and Mayor of Poway, Steve Vaus.
“Carols” is a joyous night that celebrates the holiday season and brightens the lives of children in need. Over the last 26 years, Carols has raised over $1 million and organizers hope to make an impact this year!

Monthly Meeting at Mike’s BBQ in Escondido
The Convention of the States group will hold their monthly meeting at Mike’s BBQ in Escondido on Saturday, December 3 from 1-4 p.m. You are invited to join them and bring likeminded friends. The event is open to the public and is family friendly.
They do ask that if you attend that you consider purchasing one of Mike’s BBQ entries and drink as Mike’s BBQ provides them with the meeting room.
