Poets INC Literary Series Nov. 6
POETS, INC (Inland North County) and the Escondido Arts Partnership will host a free monthly Literary Series Sunday, November 6, 1–3 p.m.
Reception is at 12:30 p.m., with light refreshments. Open mic reading begins at 1 p.m.
The program, entitled “Voices of Dissent: protest poetry, then and now,” is a fun look at past centuries of poets with social outrage as an integral part of their written history, from Shakespeare to Slam. The afternoon becomes an homage to the legacy they left behind them, with both feature performers and group pieces of which the entire audience can be part if anyone so desires. This month’s program is an all-open mic, where reading to the theme is voluntary, never mandatory.
The location is the Escondido Municipal Gallery, 262 E. Grand Ave. Call 760-480-4101 with questions or visit www.facebook.com/PoetsInlandNorthCounty
