Thousands of face mask donations distributed

Members of the COPPS unit giving out facial coverings to Interfaith Community Services.

The outpouring of donations of cloth facial coverings to Palomar Hospital Escondido was “amazing,” according to a spokesman for the City of Escondido “and they received an overwhelming amount.” The City Manager’s Office received about 3,000 facial coverings from Palomar Medical Group Inc. for distribution throughout the community.

About a quarter of the facial coverings were donated to Interfaith Community Services for distribution to the homeless and those who visit Interfaith and do not have or cannot afford a face covering. The Police Department COPPS Unit also has facial coverings to distribute while on patrol. In addition, facial coverings have been delivered to our senior citizens in the community that participate in the Senior Nutrition Program.

Police of the COPPS unit distribute facial coverings to Greg Anglea, CEO of Interfaith Community Services.
