‘Theater on the Green’ held at Center

Little dancers performing tap.

Youth dancing returned to the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, recently when the Carlsbad Dance Centre, which has students from all over the area, held a recital at an outdoor stage that was assembled on Grape Day Park for summer concerts.
The Carlsbad Dance Centre was established in 1985 as a small recreational dance academy in the Village of Carlsbad. It’s always been a place of joy and friendships as young dancers learn discipline & dedication through dance, all while having fun and making fond memories.
Current owners, Jana & Ron Romaine took over in 2003 and grew CDC into one of the largest studios in San Diego county.
With an average enrollment of 900 students and a staff of 25 teachers, the program attracts families from all over SD County. Each year, over Memorial Day weekend, they host their end of the year Dance Recital in the Concert Hall at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido.
Last year’s show had to be cancelled due to COVID-19, but this year they were back onstage at the newly constructed CCAE outdoor “Theater on The Green” in Grape Day Park.
This family-friendly show is attended each year by nearly 4,000 family & friends. The performers range in age from 5 to 65 years. Audiences see an exciting show of Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Hip-hop and more! There are also performances that include Mothers and Fathers performing with their children.
When you include the giant tailgate BBQ in the parking lot between shows you are making a lifetime of memories!
