The Coronavirus: Should We Be Concerned?

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.  For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death.  For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh…” (Romans 8:1-3, ESV)

Fear seems to be the order of the day where spread of the Coronavirus is concerned.  While the virus is certainly real and every reasonable precaution should be taken, I can’t help but think the media is doing a lot to stoke the flames.  Just the other day in Costco, I noticed a man with two carts full of toilet paper and paper towels.  I thought nothing of it, as many people resource their businesses through Costco and other similar outlets.  It didn’t occur to me until days later that this was a reaction to the news of the Coronavirus.  I was astounded, primarily because I don’t think in that way.  I don’t live in fear. Here’s why.

I have a relationship with God.  Whether it is the Coronavirus, climate change, the stock market, which has certainly been negatively impacted; there are some things we can do nothing about apart from faith in Jesus Christ.  Vaccines are being quickly developed for the virus and people are recovering from it.  It isn’t the black plague of earlier centuries, as some would have us think.

John G. Lake was a minister of healing in the early twentieth century.  From 1908 – 1913, as a missionary to South Africa, Lake buried many with the bubonic plague; or, the black plague (the black death – See www.livescience.com).  During this period, state-sponsored ships with medical supplies and corps of doctors were sent to intervene.  Extremely contagious, if the plague touched another living person, their death was certain.

When it was noticed that neither Lake nor his assistant were affected, he was asked what his secret was.  Lake, a man full of faith in God responded this way: “The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the Law of Sin and Death.  I believe that just as long as I keep my soul in contact with the living God so that His Spirit is flowing into my soul and body, that no germ will ever attach itself to me, for the Spirit of God will kill it.” (www.healingrooms.com;The Law of Life and the Law of Death by John G. Lake)

In order to test the theory, Lake suggested the doctor take a sample of the foam from the mouth of a victim and observe it under a microscope.  Confirming the plague was very much alive, Lake took some of the foam in his hand and held it under a microscope.  The plague bacteria instantly died in Lake’s hand.  Why? Lake believed the Word of God is stronger than any sickness or any disease.  I believe this to be true also.

I encourage you to come to know your God through His powerful Word.  His Word heals, brings peace and certainty in an uncertain world.

The power when you beleive and trust in the Holy Spirit is real. The challenge is clearing all thoughts that prevent that belief level to exist with absolutely no doubt whatsoever that the Word is TRUE! Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus!!

Amazingly true and pertinent article, thank you for being bold in this progressively divisive age and print truths that show how having true faith in God is the only hope we have faced with fears that man has promoted over many years. I’ve seen God’s faith in action and experienced recent healing from prayer with a spinal lumbar disorder that kept me from walking at times. Now, I barely have the slightest pain and no problems with mobility. People who lack God’s faith show their fears by reactions like the Costco T.P. hoarder, or people who attack others who don’t share their fears as said here. God’s prophecy tells us these things will occur and man will go against man more and more but God will solve division, trust Him, attend Church or get God’s word, pray for our Country. Our Country is moving away from using the faith of God to the Faith of politics, just don’t put Covid 19 in your hand, nose or mouth and expect God to heal you, that’s not a valid test of Faith, just to be clear.
