TERC to meet Aug. 20

Jeff Isaac, “Lawyer in Blue Jeans” will be the guest speaker for The Escondido Republican Club’s (TERC) lunchtime meeting on Monday, August 20.

Isaac, who has been on television and radio for the last 20 years has taken Estate Planning to a level of comfort. He will be speaking on “How to Keep the Government OUT of Our Lives”and can be heard on AM760 Sunday morning from 9-10 a.m.

This informative meeting will be held at the Cocina del Charro Restaurant, 890 W. Valley Parkway, Escondido. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch buffet service beginning at 11:45 a.m. The meeting will begin promptly at noon and conclude at 1 p.m. The cost is $15 per person. Payment by cash or check only.

GOP campaign HQ opening postponed

Due to circumstances beyond the control, the ‘Grand Opening’ of “The Escondido Republican Campaign Headquarters” has been postponed. A spokesman said, “We hope to schedule this event in the next couple of weeks. We will keep you posted! In addition to a new date, the location will also be a different one. Thank you for your understanding!”


Trivia Night Tuesdays

Trivia nights Tuesdays a Thursdays are held at Vinz restaurant (Grand & Kalmia) with shows at 5:30 & 7 p.m. Answer easy questions and wager points on answers – anyone can win a $25 gift card! Join the group Thursdays at Hidden Meadows (Boulder Oaks Golf Bar & Grill) with shows at 6 p.m. & 7 p.m. with food specials and prizes for winners!

Play’s run extended

“A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum” has been extended for a second time, although it must close August 19.

Added Performances:

August 16 – Thursday at 7 p.m.

August 17 – Friday at 8 p.m.

August 18 – Saturday at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m.

August 19 – Sunday at 2 p.m.


Members Only Exhibit this month

August at the Escondido Arts Partnership (the Municipal Gallery) celebrates members with a Members Only exhibition. It’s time to express gratitude for EAP members and supporters’ involvement, whether through volunteering, being an ambassador for the organization, and for having an enduring passion for the arts.

In the Expressions Gallery Carol Slief Dowling is “Looking Up, Looking Inward, Looking Out,” see new works by Jacquie Wade Skay and Patricia Hunter in Expressions Gallery II. The PhotoArts Group presents Still Life in the InnerSpace Gallery. Duke Windsor is having a closing reception for Rivers of Gold on Friday August 4, 6 – 9 p.m.

Artists receptions will be held during the Second Saturday Artwalk on August 11, 5:30 – 8 p.m.
