Democratic Club to hear about climate change
Come find out about the most important local and state-wide environmental legislative issues facing us today, as the Escondido Democratic Club hosts Stephanie Corkran from SanDiego350 at itsJuly 14 EDC Membership Meeting.
SanDiego350 is a diverse group of volunteers representing 10,000 contacts in the San Diego region who are working to prevent the worst effects of climate change and injustice through education, policy advocacy, and mobilization.
Stephanie Corkran, MA, is an anthropologist who works in medical research at UCSD. She is a Coast Guard veteran who enforced environmental law and responded to oil and hazardous material spills, including the Exxon Valdez oil spill. She supports a vision of social justice that considers the needs of all life, human and non-human.

Auditions to be held for “Murder at the Pie Auction”
If you’ve ever wanted to experience a slice of theater, you might consider auditioning for the
Community Players Theatre production of “Murder at the Pie Auction” an interactive audience/cast who-done-It adventure.
Auditions will be held Sunday, July 8 11 a.m.-noon and Monday, July 9 7 p.m.-8 p.m. at Community Players Theatre at Community Lutheran Church, 3575 E. Valley Parkway, Escondido.
Auditions are open to anyone ages 8 and up. There are no costs to be part of the production.

Convention of States California San Diego Leaders & Volunteers will hold a meet and greet with the discussion: “A Solution as Big as the Problem” Monday, July 2 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at Mike’s BBQ, 1356 W Valley Pkwy, Escondido.
Millions have joined the Article V Convention of States movement. Article V of the United States Constitution empowers the states to call a convention to propose amendments.
The Convention of States resolution is limited to reining in federal government, imposing fiscal restraints, and setting term limits for Congress and federal officials, such as judges. River Park Hike
City of San Marcos invites you to hike at San Dieguito River Park – Lake Hodges North Shore to Felicita Creek. The 7-mile hike will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 7.
The group will walk east along the North Shore of Lake Hodges until they each reach the crossing of Felicita Creek, and also explore the Lake Hodges Boat Ramp. There will be 425 feet of elevation gain. Registration will take place at 8:30 a.m. at the SDRP Parking Lot, Lake Dr. at Beech Ln. Escondido. 33 05.998 N, 117 12.125 W
