EDCO TO PROVIDE SERVICES ON VETERANS DAY

Escondido Disposal will continue to provide waste & recycling services on Veterans Day (observed November 12.)

There will be no delay in waste and recycling collection services on Monday, November 12, 2018. Escondido Disposal’s customer service office, including its public disposal site, will also remain open.

HOSPITAL AUXILIARY TO MEET

North County Unit of Rady Children’s Hospital Auxiliary invites you to attend “Walking in a Winter Wonderland” Saturday, December 1 at California Center for the Arts, Escondido

340 N. Escondido Blvd., Escondido.

The event opens at 9:45 a.m., with Holiday Luncheon at noon.

Net proceeds will benefit brain biology and behavioral health and affiliated programs

FARM EXPO NOV. 14

San Diego County Farm Bureau’s fourth annual Farm and Nursery Expo will be held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on November 14 from 9 a.m. – 4:30  p.m. Attendees will have the opportunity to network with a wide variety of vendors, visit the educational resource center, and learn about the newest technology and equipment for their garden, farm, or nursery.

Attendees will also have the opportunity hear from experts in the expo’s seminar series. Topics include: Water Supply & Runoff Regulations, The Growing Challenge of Hiring Employees in CA, An Integrated Approach to Managing Ground Squirrels & Gophers, Spray Drift Management, and Women Breaking Ground in Local Agriculture. There will also be a networking Social Hour from 3:30– 4:30 p.m.

HOME FIREARM SAFETY/ BASIC HANDGUN CLASS

A monthly 3 hour familiarization and safety class is offered for anyone anticipating the purchase of, or who already own, a handgun.

The class is offered Sunday, December 2, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Escondido Fish and Game Association shooting range east of Lake Wohlford. Participants learn the basics of handguns, home firearm safety and responsibility of firearm ownership. Handguns and ammunition are provided for the class, but participants are encouraged to bring their own handgun if they already own one.

The Escondido Fish and Game Association range is located at 16525 Guejito Rd. & Lake Wohlford Road. Cost is $60. To register for the class call Jack at 760-746-2868.
