EDCO will provide services on Presidents’ Day
There will be no delay in waste and recycling collection services on Monday, February 18. EDCO’s customer service offices, including its recycling centers and public disposal sites, will also remain open. This includes Fallbrook Waste and Recycling Services.
Community Players Theatre announces auditions this Sunday, February 10, 11 a.m.-12:30p.m. and Monday, February 11, 7-8 p.m. at Community Lutheran Church, 3575 E. Valley Parkway. The show is “Thoroughly Modern Millie.”
Ages 7-99 (or older. ) According to Co-Director Chris Ryan, “Prepare a 30 second song and a short monologue to show us what you can do. If you are interested in being a part of the staff (helping with costumes, props, sets, anything), please contact us, we would love to have you be a part of our show. Rehearsal dates are not set yet, but will work mainly on Tuesdays-Thursdays, we are very flexible.”

The group is seeking ladies with a heart to serve the children at Rady Children’s Hospital. The ladies of the North County Auxiliary meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, next meeting is on February 20, at St. Petra’s Serbian Orthodox on 1854 Knob Hill Rd., in San Marcos.
They have a social meet and greet starting at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting begins at 10 am. They are a group of ladies of various ages and abilities, all working together to help the children of Rady Children’s Hospital. The Escondido Republican Club (TERC) will be holding its monthly lunchtime meeting on Monday, February 18, featuring guest speaker Carl DeMaio, who has “built an entire business and a political career on speaking truth to power, holding government accountable, and offering creative solutions to public challenges.”
The meeting will be held at the Cocina del Charro Restaurant,
890 W. Valley Parkway, Escondido. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m. with the lunch buffet service beginning at 11:45 a.m. The meeting will begin promptly at noon and conclude at 1 p.m.

Public hearing on transition to district-based elections
The Palomar Health Board of Directors is holding a special board meeting to take public input on proposed district boundaries as board members consider moving from at-large elections to district-based elections and representation.
The meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 11, 6 p.m. at Palomar Medical Center Downtown Escondido, Graybill Auditorium, 555 E. Valley Parkway.
There will be maps of the proposed districts. The regular board meeting will immediately follow the special meeting.

Walk for Animals
San Diego is going to the dogs during the San Diego Humane Society’s Walk for Animals at Kit Carson Park on Saturday, February 20 from 7 a.m. to noon. The event will feature the Chew It Up Truck, an experiential, mobile tour presented by Merial, the maker of NexGard and HEARTGARD Plus.
