
The 1st Marine Division Band, based in Camp Pendleton, will be in concert at the Main Stage at the California Center for the Arts.
The City of Escondido will sponsor the 53rd annual July 4th celebration and fireworks display in Grape Day Park.
According to Mayor Sam Abed, “This exciting event celebrates our community’s patriotic heritage and shares the love of our great nation with all of Escondido.”
There will be a cornucopia of free entertainment beginning at 4 p.m. on that Monday with a presentation by the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans, followed by the Jonathan Lee Band, Ke’Ahi & Halua Hula O Makalani Na Pilialoha, Manny Cepeda Orchestra Quartet, the 1st Marine Division Band in concert at the Main Stage (8:05 p.m.), and a fireworks display by Fireworks America (at approximately 9 p.m.)
From 4-8 p.m. there will be children’s activities. The museum at the California Center for Arts, Escondido will be open to the public for free that day from 4 to 8 p.m. and will feature two exhibitions, “My Hero: Contemporary Art & Superhero Action” and “Unlocking Wonderland: The Exhibit.” A variety of refreshments will be available for purchase.

Note: BBQs, alcohol, pets and tall chairs/canopies should not be brought to the park.
