Sunny Side Kitchen starts Supper Club

Kate & Bob Carpenter of Sunny Side Kitchen are excited about the new Sunny Side Kitchen Supper Club.

“Have you heard about supper clubs that have been popping up in San Diego and Los Angeles? Often times it’s at an undisclosed location with ananonymous chef. Part of the excitement is that you are sharing your dinner with strangers. We combined that idea with a great experience we had near Mt. Rushmore a few years ago. We walked into a restaurant and it was completely prix fixe (a set menu at a set price). These concepts, plus Bob’s love of a good filet mignon, are the basis of the after hours Sunny Side Supper Club,” Kate told The Times-Advocate.

“We feel that a delicious steak dinner is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Juicy steak, steaming hot, roasted potatoes, fresh veggies … mmmmm … And don’t forget dessert. Steak and all the fixings are on the menu for the exclusive, after hours Sunny Side Supper Club. These private events are held at Sunny Side Kitchen, 155 S. Orange St., in Downtown Escondido.”

The Supper Club will be scheduled for one Saturday a month and they book justone seating of 6 to 8 people. If a group wants to book a minimum of 6 seats they can add a date just for them. In fact, we are going to havetwo Supper Clubs on May 6 as one group wants to eat at 4 and another group wants to eat at 7.

Here’s the menu:

Appetizer- Mozzarella, tomato, and basil with balsamic reduction drizzle

Appetizer- Bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with gorgonzola cheese and toasted slivered almonds

First Course- Wedge salad with bacon, tomatoes, red onion, blue cheese crumbles and blue cheese dressing.

Main Course- Roasted asparagus with parmesan cheese, roasted rosemary potatoes and an amazing 8-ounce, 21-day aged Black Angus Prime grade Filet Mignon (all center cuts) prepared with the Sous Vide method of cooking and a cast iron pan sear.

For dessert, Tiramisu Sunny Side style.

Coffee or espresso brewed to order.

Cost is $75 per person plus tax, all inclusive. No add-ons, no tips.

Just pay when reserving and leave your wallet at home. Please bring

your own drinks.
