Stone & Glass Grand Re-Opening

MINDING your BUSINESS

James Stone blowing glass to create candleholders for a custom order in the old gallery on Simpson Way.

Stone & Glass will be hosting a grand re-opening event at their new location on November 11 from 1 – 7 p.m. Seven months after the fire closed them down, Stone & Glass is ready to open.

The new location is 629 W. Grand Ave, Escondido.

The fire destroyed their studio on Simpson Way April 1. Now, rising like a Phoenix from the ashes, the new gallery is larger and will feature the work of James Stone as well as the works of other select talented artists. There is also a new viewing area for guests to watch the glass artists in action from the comfort of the climate controlled gallery.

This event will include light refreshments and live entertainment. There will be demonstrations scheduled throughout the afternoon and some limited “walk on glass” experiences. RSVP on their Facebook page to attend.

The grand re-opening celebration is a great opportunity for you to be one of the first people to check out the new digs and place orders for holiday gifts. With a purchase or pre-order, you will automatically be entered to win a Holiday Ornament Class for Four (valued at $220.) For more information, go to: stoneandglass.com.

Glass Blowing classes will be open for everyone to register online. The initial line up will include:

• Introduction to Glass Blowing (Saturday afternoons throughout the year)

• Late Harvest Pumpkins (November)

• Beer Glass Class (mid-November)

• Holiday Ornament Class (late November through December)

• Hearts and Flowers (late January through mid-February)

• Look for Bead and Torch classes coming soon

If you sign up for their newsletter, they’ll keep you updated on the latest announcements, event details and class schedules. Thanks to Visit Escondido for some of the information in this article.
