Sip Wine and Beer, the popular establishment located in the heart of Escondido Grand Avenue downtown area, is celebrating three years in business. It is owned by Jeremy & Cassandra Schaeg.
Given that Escondido is a city where new residents are constantly moving in, it’s a sure bet that there are a lot of people who don’t know about the place that specializes in introducing people to the joys of wine without all the snobbery that often comes with that knowledge.
Now that it’s fall, inevitably the roses and later the red wines will start making more of an appearance. It’s cooler and roses are making a comeback.
“They are very popular right now,” says Cassandra, the genial hostess at Sip.
Enjoy a free cheese board when you buy a bottle of wine or a free cheese samples when you buy a “flight” of wine. A “flight” is a sampler of several wines and is a good way to try some vintages you aren’t familiar with.
As the holidays ramp up, expect to find more fun things to do at Sip, which is located in the heart of the historic downtown, with several restaurants a stone’s throw away. Stop for some wine and then wander off onto Grand for high cuisine.
