Sheila Corwin, 81, lived in Escondido 43 years



Sheila Mae (Dunn) Corwin, a 43- year resident of Escondido, died quietly in her sleep on Dec 7 from complications of Alzheimer’s disease. She was 81.

Mrs. Corwin was an avid tennis player, active in Dos Valles Garden Club, Round dancing and Square dancing groups such as the Valley Center Promenaders, and a volunteer docent for the Poway and Escondido Performing Art Centers. Sheila was an extremely talented needleworker who knitted fabulous garments and blankets as gifts for all occasions. She was a monthly San Diego Blood and Platelet Donor for several decades and was still donating earlier this year.

She is survived by three children, Victoria, Elizabeth, and Philip, two siblings, Paulette and Gregory, one grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Born in Los Angeles in Jan 1935, she is preceded in death by her parents Allen and Harriett Dunn.

Donations are requested in Mrs. Corwin’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
