Safari Park offers summer of activities

Summer Safari 2018

Join The San Diego Safari Park for a world of entertainment and special foods this summer. During Summer Safari, you can enter at 8:30 a.m. and enjoy the park’s newly renovated Safari Coffee Outpost/Plant Trader for a cup of coffee, or pick up supplies at Safari Outfitters. The rest of the park will open at 9 a.m. daily.

Activities available during the day are shown below:

Entertainment

Zuzu African Acrobats

Location: Safari Base Camp

Times: 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.

This troop of acrobats puts the “zing” in “ama-zing”! Watch them perform traditional Kenyan acrobatics set to high-energy beats.

Didgeridoo Musician

Location: Walkabout Australia

Times: 2 to 5 p.m.

Discover the unique, earthy sounds of this ancient wind instrument. Listen for it at various spots in Safari Base Camp.

Asian Drumming and Dance

Location: Safari Base Camp

Times: 2 p.m.

Gifted entertainers share the art of traditional Asian drumming and mesmerizing, culture-rich dances.

South American and Mexican Dance

Location: Safari Base Camp

Times: 1 and 5 p.m.

Pick up the rhythm and let your feet join the beat during this colorful, exhilarating dance exhibition.

North American Drumming and Dance

Location: Safari Base Camp

Times: 3:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Traditions come to life through music, dance, and costumes.

Polynesian Dance Display

Location: Safari Base Camp

Times: 2:30, 4, and 6 p.m.

Polynesian dances tell stories through movement—immerse yourself in the tales told through these energetic and beautiful dance performances.

World Celebration Show

Location: Safari Base Camp

Times: 5:30 p.m.

Join in celebrating cultures from around the world during a dazzling show combining colorful flags and movement set to lively music.

Savor the World

Location: Throughout the Park

Times: Offered daily until 5 p.m.

Purchase a tasting card and take your taste buds on a delicious tour as you sample treats from around the world representing our worldwide conservation projects. (Must be 21 or older to obtain tastes containing alcohol.)

Cost is five tastes for $25 (plus tax); ten tastes for $45 (plus tax.)

Open every day of the year, including all holidays.

Parking fees: $15 per vehicle; $20 for RV parking. Preferred parking is available on weekends and holidays for an additional $18 ($15 + $18 = $33 total to park in preferred parking.)
