Del Lago Academy (DLA), a non-charter, biotech/medical science focused campus, was designed around a core academic program engaging students in real-world learning to better prepare them to be successful in college and careers.

All students participate in community mentorship opportunities such as job shadowing and internship experiences. Del Lago Academy highlights four overarching goals to ensure a college and career focus to high school students: 1) bring relevance to the daily curriculum in all content areas; 2) develop habits of work; 3) foster college and career exposure and exploration; and 4) expand students’ social networks and access to opportunities.

Steve Boyle, EUHSD Superintendent said, “As a valuable and dedicated educational leader, I am confident Ruth Hellams will be an asset to the students, staff and school community at Del Lago Academy, building on their strong and unique academic success.”

Ruth Hellams will serve in this interim role as principal for the 2017-2018 school year.
