The CalRTA Scholarship Foundation of North San Diego County gives scholarships to deserving high school seniors who would like to be teachers and to those entering the teacher credentialing program.
One Escondido resident was among the honorees.
Its recipients were honored at a Scholarship Luncheon on May 24 at the Golf Club of California, Fallbrook.
High school recipients were:
Evelyn Avila – El Camino HS
Yulisa Martinez – Vista HS
Valorie Wolf – Vista HS
Teacher Credential Recipients are:
Michelle Goings – CSUSM
Deborah Sanchez – CSUSM
Deborah Sanchez was awarded her first Foundation scholarship in 2013 as a graduate of Escondido High School. She attended Cal State San Marcos and earned both a first and second year scholarship.
The Foundation was pleased to grant Sanchez a fifth-year scholarship because she was accepted into the Special Education Credential Program at CSUSM.
I think we should select additional recipients.
