On Monday, August 6, members of the Escondido community can hit the links for a good cause thanks to the annual World’s Largest Golf Outing (WLGO).
WOGO is the single largest charitable golf event held on one day and makes a significant impact in the lives of those who need it most: our nation’s veterans. This year, WLGO will benefit the Fisher House Foundation, which is best known for a network of more than 75 comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment.
Golf courses throughout the United States are participating in this nation-wide event, with eight in California! The closest to you is:
Eagle Crest Golf Club
Participants don’t need to be professional or experienced golfers to participate. Families and friends will support Fisher House through a $10.00 donation per player. Over the years, this fundraiser has brought in more than $3.5 million for charitable organizations, and this is the 3rd year that the WLGO has supported the Foundation.
Fisher House Mission
The World’s Largest Golf Outing (WLGO) was created in 2011 when Peter Hill, CEO of Billy Casper Golf, envisioned all of the golf courses in his portfolio holding a golf outing on the same day and having that event make a difference. WLGO was born by combining two of the company’s passions – playing golf and giving back.
The record-setting potential for the Largest Golf Outing ever was an ancillary benefit compared to finding a way to make a difference in the lives of others. With your support, WLGO has raised over $3.7 million for injured service men and women and their families and counting!
Fisher House Foundation operates 75 comfort homes where military and veteran’s families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment.
Organizers hope to grow WLGO into the single largest charitable golf event held on one day and continue to make a significant impact in the lives of those who need it most.
