G Burns Jug Band will be the Puttin’ Down Roots entertainment on Friday, July 21, 7– 10 p.m.
California Center for the Arts Escondido, 340 N Escondido Blvd.
Delve into the multicultural roots of American music with Puttin’ Down Roots. This brand-new Americana music series will fill the Lyric Court with music every Friday in July. Enjoy a different genre of live roots music each week, and learn about the various styles from local scholars and the artists themselves.
The G Burns Jug Band plays old American music with an intensity and authenticity rarely heard today: urban blues, mountain fiddle, and popular music of the 1920s and 1930s. Led by multi-instrumentalist Clinton Davis, they have shared the stage with roots luminaries including Jim Kweskin, Del McCoury, and Beausoleil avec Michael Ducet.
Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
Although no RSVP is required and admission is free, RSVPs to this event will be given priority seating. Seating at bistro tables is also available for $12/seat or $40 for a table for 4. Table seating is very limited, so purchase your seats early!
No outside food or drink allowed.
Online sales and reservations must be made by 3:30 p.m. on the day of the performance. Seating will also be available at the door on a first-come, first-seated basis.
The Center will have light bites for purchase, a cash bar, and a dance floor for those who are so inclined.
