A meeting to take public input on prevention assistance will be held on July 30 at City Hall.
The U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has allocated funds to the City of Escondido for Fiscal Year (FY) 2016-2017 for an Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG).
The main objective of ESG is to provide prevention assistance to individuals and families who would otherwise become homeless and to provide assistance to rapidly re-house persons who are homeless and those who are at risk of becoming homeless.
In order to receive funding, the Submittal of the Substantial Amendment to the FY 2015-2019 Five Year Consolidated Plan and FY 2016-2017 Annual Action Plan is required by HUD.
Neighborhood Services Staff has begun the consultation and citizen participation process, and will host a public meeting to solicit further input from the community on Thursday, July 30, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. For more information about this public meeting, visit www.escondido.org/neighborhood-services.aspx.
Neighborhood Services is responsible for administration of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) public service programs and projects.
The division also manages capital projects related to neighborhood improvements and acts as the primary liaison between the City, neighborhood organizations, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
