Palomar Health announces leadership appointments


Palomar Health last week announced the appointment of David Cloyd, MD as the Medical Director of Physician Leadership Development and Don Myers as Director of Behavioral Health Services.

Dr. Cloyd will provide leadership for Palomar Health’s medical units and service lines and play a significant role in the Academy of Applied Physician Leadership. Dr. Cloyd has been a member of Palomar Health since 1985 after opening his general surgery practice in Escondido. He has been an active member of the local San Diego Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, serving as president of the chapter for three years and subsequently for three years on the Board of Governors.

Myers recently served as director, behavioral health Services with Kaweah Delta Mental Health Services, a 63-bed adult acute inpatient mental health hospital in Visalia, California. He has served on various state, county, and local committees and associations to influence public policy, reduce stigmas, and improve access for the behavioral health population. Myers currently serves on the California Hospital Association Behavioral Health Center Advisory Board.
