OGHS wins $5K in musical instruments

Orange Glen High School won $5,000 worth of musical instruments through the Barry Manilow contest.

This past summer the Manilow Music Project announced their high school band winner for a prize of $100,000 worth of Yamaha instruments. Orange Glen High School competed in this contest by submitting a 5-minute video explaining why they needed the band instruments and what the music program meant to the students.

The 75 high school bands from across the country entered the contest and on June 19, Barry Manilow announced from his stage in Las Vegas the winners of that contest. The last runner up (fifth place) was Orange Glen High School, which received an award of $5000 worth of musical instruments.
