Nominations sought for city council awards

Do you know someone who deserves to be recognized for service to the community? If so, consider submitting a nomination. Award nomination forms can be obtained at www.escondido.org/council-awards.aspx (the website also includes a list of past award winners).

Categories include: Arts, Business, Community, Education, Public Safety, Historic Preservation, and Youth. The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24. A sub-committee of the City Council will review all nominations and make its final selection later this month.

The awards will be presented at the annual State of the City Address on Wednesday, February 28, at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. The event is free and open to the public, with an optional breakfast offered for an additional charge. Breakfast tickets can be purchased online at h
