Local women in master’s program

Miami University’s Project Dragon­fly has admitted a new cohort of stu­dents to its Advanced Inquiry Program (AIP). The AIP combines web-based graduate coursework through Miami University with face-to-face experi­ential learning at some of the nation’s premiere community learning institu­tions.

Escondido resident Courtney Goode was recently accepted into the Ad­vanced Inquiry Program (AIP) and will be taking classes toward a Master of Arts in Teaching degree in the bio­logical sciences from Miami Univer­sity through Project Dragonfly.

As a first-year AIP student, Goode will complete web-based courses from Miami University with face-to-face experiential learning and field study through San Diego Zoo Global.

Escondido resident Megan Ziegler was recently accepted into the Ad­vanced Inquiry Program (AIP) and will be taking classes toward a Master of Arts degree in biology from Miami University through Project Dragonfly.

As a first-year AIP student, Ziegler will complete web-based courses from Miami University with face-to-face experiential learning and field study through San Diego Zoo Global.

Miami University’s Project Drag­onfly reaches millions of people each year through inquiry-driven learning media, public exhibits and graduate programs worldwide. Project Dragon­fly is based in the department of biol­ogy at Miami University, a state uni­versity in Oxford, Ohio. Miami was established in 1809 and is listed as one of the eight original Public Ivies.

Local student graduates from Fort Hays State University

An Escondido resident is among the 470 who completed associate, bach­elor’s or graduate degrees at Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kansas in the summer 2016 term.

Michael Adam Sovacool received a Master of Professional Studies (human resource management).

Fort Hays State is one of six public universities in the Kansas Board of Regents system.

Graduates are arranged alphabetical­ly by city of residence and ZIP code.

Named to Dean’s List

Oklahoma City University an­nounced that Napoleon Rivera of Es­condido has been named to the Sum­mer 2016 Dean’s Honor Roll.

Dean’s Honor Roll status is awarded to students who successfully complete a minimum of 12 credit hours and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
