Negotiate like an FBI hostage negotiator

North County realtors group invites public to negotiate “like an FBI hostage negotiator.”

The North San Diego County Association of Realtors (NSDCAR), a real estate trade group for San Diego-area realtors, will present “Negotiate like an FBI Hostage Negotiator,” from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Friday, June 9, at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, 340 N. Escondido Blvd. The public is invited to attend. The event is this year’s annual “Conversations” program presented by NSDCAR.

Speakers include: Chris Voss, author and former FBI hostage negotiator; Jon Caruthers, FBI Special Agent of Cyber Crimes, San Diego Division; Neil Kalin, assistant general counsel, California Association of Realtors; Robert Fell, director of information security, GW Pharmaceuticals; Scott Sutcliffe, owner, Scott IT Group.

Keynote speaker Chris Voss is the founder and CEO of the Black Swan Group and author of “Never Split the Difference: Negotiating As If Your Life Depended on it.”

Voss will discuss negotiating strategies based on many years of experience in international crisis and high-stakes negotiations that can benefit real estate sales careers, business and personal life. He will share negotiation secrets and principles he used and perfected from his remarkable career as a hostage negotiator for the FBI.

Caruthers supervises the Cyber Squads for the FBI’s San Diego Division. Special Agent Caruthers will be joining the panelists below to provide information on how to keep your personal and business information safe and the biggest threats to watch out for. Additional topics will include data protection, cybersecurity and new laws. The event will include roundtable Q&A sessions with the speakers, breakout sessions and book signings.
