Coming to the end of the school year

The end…. by the end I mean that we are coming to the end of the school year, the end of testing, and the end of homework. So let’s all break out into our happy dance and say hello to the sunshine! It is that time of year that we go to Target and buy sunscreen and set aside the darker cloths and hang up your summer cloths. If you want to hear more about the summer time and some facts stay tuned…

Make sure that you order your Valley Center Middle School yearbook for the 2014-2015 school year. Yearbooks are a great way to always remember your middle school years. Get your yearbook soon before the price goes up. The 8th grade dinner dance is coming up, make sure that you buy your tickets soon for $20. ATTENTION ALL CURRENT 7TH AND 6TH GRADERS: GET YOUR VOTES IN FOR THE 2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR. Just remember that it is approval voting so you can vote for anyone that you approve of serving your school. You can vote up to 1-53 people. Just make sure that you are not favoring anyone and please do not base it off of popularity.

To get you in the spirit of sunshine, sandy bathing suits, the smell of salt and wet beach wavy hair, I have some facts for you:

1. Although the weather is starting to warm up and we are all breaking out the shorts and all, summer technically does not start till June 21.

2. Did you know that the summer of September 13, 1922 the Libyan Desert reached 136 degrees, in the shade? “That is hot enough to fry an egg,” says my neighbor, Mrs. Martin.

3. Did you know that the first spelling bee was held in the summer of June 24, 1825?

I hope that you enjoyed those few facts. Just remember to put on sunscreen.

ALSO A BIG SHOUTOUT TO ALL THE MOMS OUT THERE. WE LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOU. I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO GIVE THE BIGGEST SHOUTOUT TO MY MOM, YOU ARE AMAZING I HOPE THAT YOU KNOW THAT WE APPRECIATE EVERYTHING THAT YOU DO FOR US.

SORRY IT IS LATE.

Do not forget that you need to finish the school year off strong. I hope that you have a great week of NO testing.

See you in two weeks with some more Thunder Hawk News.
