Bowling fans were stunned recently when they showed up at Tavern + Bowl North County at Westfield North County (which us locals still insist on calling North County Fair) and it was closed.
The popular bowling alley and restaurant had operated in Escondido for nearly seven years. According to Tavern + Bowl CEO Daniel Hurd the lease negotiations with Westfield failed. He said they would have preferred to keep the location open, but couldn’t come to an agreement with the mall operator.

The Times-Advocate has learned that the local branch of Panera Bread, in the Target shopping center, will soon begin delivering to homes and businesses within an eight-minute drive of its Escondido Promenade location on1286 Auto Park Way.
