Volunteers from Wells Fargo this week will work alongside professional GRID Alternatives San Diego staff to install a no-cost solar panel system on a family home of a low-income Escondido family. The benefitting family can expect to save more than $36,000 on electricity bills over the life of the system.
In 2019, Wells Fargo is participating in more than a dozen solar volunteer opportunities throughout the state of California with GRID Alternatives as part of the organization’s effort to expand access to solar energy. The company has volunteered with GRID Alternatives since 2005 and has donated more than $12 million dollars to support the organization’s national solar work since 2007. In 2018, Wells Fargo volunteers donated more than 534 hours with GRID Alternatives – generating more than $140,000 in clean energy savings for low-income households.
The home of the family receiving solar installation is located in the Midway neighborhood of Escondido.
