Calvin Christian – The unbeaten Crusaders (4-0) were idle last week but get back to business this Friday afternoon when they travel to San Pasqual Academy.

Classical – After taking their bye week, the Caimans (2-3) will look to even up their overall record when they matchup with competitive Santa Fe Christian. Classical is seeking a third win in its last four outings.

Hilltop 41 – Escondido 27 – Once more, another spirited comeback bid by the Cougars (1-5) isn’t enough. Down by 19 at halftime, Esco scores 20 points in the third quarter to draw within 34-27 but can’t get any closer. Running back Marcio Souffront is a true force as he scores on a 16-yard rush before bringing back a sensational 80-yard kickoff return. Quarterback Kellen McCoy continues to build on a fine senior season by linking up with Quinton Gaudet (19 yards) and Cristafer Jackson (52 yards) on a pair of TD tosses.

Tri-City Christian 56 – Escondido Charter 6 – Eagle quarterback Zach Reitmeyer tallies four times on the ground while running back Anthony Madden adds a pair rushing scores of his own. A TCC 35-6 halftime lead puts the game out of reach. The lone White Tiger score comes on a nicely executed 18-yard down-and-in route by receiver Jake Zimmerman, who gets behind the defense and gathers in a sweet pitch from QB James Frazier. Receivers Malachi Russell (113 yards), Billy Mercado (92 yards) and Brandon Montes get in on the fun as they each tally twice. Meanwhile, the “D” is dominant with linebacker Diego Ramos leading the way with an astounding 13 solo tackles. Fellow backers Dereck Rojas (12 stops) and Luis Mateo (11 tackles) are also all over the field. OG (3-3) will take the week off before returning to action on 10/14 against Santa Fe Christian.

San Pasqual 57 – Castle Park 0 – The Golden Eagles (4-2) demonstrate they are clearly a team on the rise with their third straight victory as they light up the scoreboard while blanking the Trojans.

San Pasqual Academy 2 – Ocean View Christian 0 – The Dragons improve their overall record to 2-1 by virtue of a rare win by forfeit. SPA will be severely tested this week when they host a rampaging Calvin Christian team for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
