Escondido Public Library’s Burritos & Book Club for teens ages 14–18, meets on Saturday, November 12, in the Turrentine Room from noon to 1:30 p.m. “The Devil You Know,” by Trish Doller, is the selected title and copies are available for checkout at the Library’s Information Desk or can be reserved using the Library’s online catalog at library.escondido.org.

In “The Devil You Know,” 18-year old Cadie’s life revolves around the staid routine of school, work, and taking care of her family’s needs before her own. Her longing for adventure gets the better of her when she attends a summer beach party. She impulsively jumps at the chance to go on a camping road trip with an old friend and two boys that she meets. Her rebellious quest for carefree adventure finds romance, but takes a deadly turn when she discovers that one her traveling companions is not who he claims to be. Cadie is a naïve, but resourceful protagonist in this suspenseful thriller.
After discussing The Devil You Know, teens can share other books they have enjoyed and select the next Burritos & Book Club title. Complimentary burritos will be provided, and all participants receive a free book or audiobook at the end of the program. This will be the final Burritos & Book Club meeting in 2016. The next meeting will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017.
