Letter to the Editor: DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT A DICTIONARY IS?

DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT A DICTIONARY IS?

Editor, Times-Advocate:

I’ll not copy and paste the dictionary definition of liberalism, you can look that up yourself and you should because your editorial definition is foreign to Webster’s and Cambridge. And it just gets worse from there. Do you even know what a dictionary is?

You write, “(t)here is no longer “polite” society.” Where were you 8 years ago when our president was being called a (n-word) and a bastard? When his “Certificate of Live Birth” was called fake? When his wife and children were being compared to animals? When exactly, Mr. Ross, did politeness in our society end?

And nobody calls you a Nazi for not caring if someone dies because a multinational insurance company cares more about profit than people. Instead they call you callous for that, Nazi is a term you get called for defending policies that the world went to war to end.

You and your ilk brought all of this on yourselves. It takes a lot to rile up liberals, it takes more than the orange skin color of the current president. It takes people like you who revel in the rage filled hatred of the Republican Party and the conservative movement in general.

RICH REINHOFER, San Marcos

Editor—You never disappoint, Mr. Reinhofer. It’s always a pleasure to have a conversation with someone who begins it with, “You are evil and I am good.”  As long as two halves of the country have the attitude that the other half is completely immoral, and won’t entertain the possibility they might have a point about something, we are in deep trouble.
