A happy young angler from the 2021 Trout Derby.
Kiwanis Club Of Escondido – Hidden Valley (formally Hidden Valley Kiwanis) is back on again with their annual end-of-season Lake Dixon Trout Derby – April 23 and 24.
The club has made some changes, particular to the prizes – all prizes will be Turner’s Gift Certificates ($710 in Prizes with 10 chances to win.) The lake will be stocked with Tagged Fish; the first 15 are awarded $25 Turner’s gift cards.
Morning hot breakfast and a menu of hot lunch items will be available to meet you picnic needs. This is a “Family event,” so to round things off, you are invited to visit the Children’s fishing experience – 300 pounds of small trout ready for the catching for all children under 8 years – no cost.
Fishing equipment, bait and expertise are provided by the Senior Anglers of Escondido. Derby hours are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Children’s Fishing Ponds open from 9 a.m.-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. And don’t forget to check out the new playground equipment.
