The Concert Under the Stars to benefit the Puppy Coalition Foundation, which had been scheduled for June 3, has been canceled.
Lyle Davis, who organized the event to happen at Melrose Ranch, announced the cancellation over the weekend. “It’s with a very heavy heart that I reluctantly have to cancel the concert for Friday, June 3rd,” he wrote. “Tickets sales are simply anemic. Less than 100 general admission sales, only seven VIP tables sold . . . the combined revenue of which don’t even come close to matching up with scheduled expenses.”
He added, “I’m open to rescheduling to a later date as I think we had an attractive package put together. As in so many things in life, timing may well have been the issue. The venue was superb, the artists are fantastic, the sound/lighting crew are extraordinary, Julie Stroh [of Melrose Ranch] worked her heart out, and all appeared in place to produce an outstanding concert. But the ticket sales simply aren’t there. So sorry. Hope we can work together again.”
