It’s hat day at the races
The first day of racing at the Del Mar Racetrack is traditionally “hat day” when ladies adorn themselves in their finest headgear and parade in “dressed to kill” finery.
Our photographer Lenny Kerbs visited Del Mar on the first day of the races and captured rare birds in their finest plumage.
This Del Mar visitor has created a skyscraper among hats.
Beauty framed by the endless sky and feathery clouds to contrast against flowers.
This outfit could have walked off the stage from a performance of “My Fair Lady.”
With this headgear you might call these ladies, “The Four Musketeers.”
Talk about being “head over heels.”
How does she keep it from falling off?
Oh, yes! There was horseracing too!
